Yesterday I finally made the big decision, one had to go: a 1999 F250 Super-duty 4wd with the 6.8 V10, or my 77 Scout with an SD33T. Last summer I was going to get rid of the Scout, and did all the things it needed to get a good price. I then fell back in love with it. After driving it and comparing the Scout with about 25mpg and the V10 at 11mpg, I was leaning towards the Scout. When my wife and I drove the Scout through a Starbucks and the guy gave us our drinks for free, because he loved the Scout, the deal was sealed.  To celebrate trading in the truck yesterday for a VW TDI wagon for the wife, I am joining this club.

   I have owned it for about 14 years. The guy who had it before me changed it from the SD33 to the SD33T.  After having a little  trouble teaching my 11yr old daughter to drive a clutch, it now has a 1980 front grill with the square headlights.  

I love the scout and have yet to pay a lot for parts. NAPA had a rebuilt water pump for $65, and the local auto parts store had an alternator with the shaft for the vacuum pump for $102. I put in the Ford solenoid and some new brushes for the starter. I need to work in the heater, but it starts great.
